MINERVA guide, PDX artist

Bio: Anne (Minerva Guide) was born and raised in northeastern Pennsylvania, and has always been inspired by legends, her love of nature, and stories about cryptic spirits and monsters, who live in the woods throughout the United States.The artisan name of Minerva Guide, comes from her highly spiritual connection with her art, nature, wildlife, and the goddess Minerva. Her interests became a serious area of study after caring for an elderly woman who had owned, The Gem Shop,  in Pennsylvania. Since moving to Portland, Oregon in 2016, she has worked towards a goal of tying together art along with conservation to create a magical sense of wonder and curiosity that surrounds us. Her artwork has been shown in local and international exhibitions that include, the 2019 Fernie Brae “Ancient Tongues and Tales” and the Black Diamond Gallery located in Pennsylvania. Her professional experience includes; the 2014-2015 Historical Chair for the Mauch Chunk Historical Society in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, and currently the Store Manager of Fossil Cartel, located in downtown Portland, Oregon. In her 8 years at Fossil Cartel, she has acquired certifications in a variety of Metaphysical topics, including Advanced Crystal Therapy. She continues her research and studies on the history of Crystals, Gemstones, folklore and regional history.
